The Pond at the Whitney Museum Biennial

This past March I had the honor to work on part of an outdoor installation showcased at the NYC Whitney Museum’s 2008 Biennial art exhibition.  I specifically worked with the distinguished artist Fritz Haeg (www.FritzHaeg.com) to build a pond in the sculpture garden outside of the museum as part of his Animal Estates exhibit.  We placed pond liner over a wooden structure and filled it with water.  We placed pumps throughout the bottom to circulate the water, as well as to empty the pond into a side drain in case of leaks.  These pictures are, first, of the pond under construction and, then, of the final product at the launch party.
